The absolute best Mexican food ever!! The Mar y Tierra and Chipotle Enchiladas are always 5 stars. Excellent hospitality and world class desserts - Chimichanga Banana Cheesecake is off the charts delicious.
El Agave is one of Wenatchee's long term Mexican restaurant locations. We've eaten here 20 years ago when it was called Tequila's. The building's motif, inside and out is so adorned in festive colors, murals, adobe archways, and Mexican decor, that it could hardly be any other kind of business. The front salon of the restaurant has fixed booth seating, typically for four. The middle salon has free standing tables that can be arranged for larger groups. The rear salon is the bar area with stools and sports television. I called before lunch and reserved seating for 12 at 7:30 pm. When we arrived, everything was clean and ready, and we were accommodated by a waiter and waitress. They handled us in stride along with all their other customers--no waiting, no mistakes, no pressure, all positive. Their menu is extensive; there's something for everyone, from the basics--tacos, enchiladas, rellenos, rice and beans--to signature meals of steak and seafood. I ordered all five of the first choices above for $15.75 (see photo) and a Tecate beer with lime. The portions are huge, definitely filling the plate rim-to-rim. I noticed that the sauces for the enchiladas, the rellenos, and the taco were all different. The complexity of flavors was very satisfying. Yes, the Cadillac Margaritas were $19 each, but they were easily 2-3 times larger than a regular cocktail. The food was delicious, the service was stellar, and the prices were very fair, especially considering the large portion sizes. Think of El Agave as Mexican faire in the time-honored flavors we all expect. The Pico-de-Gallo and guacamole are exceptional! ...definitely 5-Stars.
This was the best! Off on an excellent adventure tour of Washington and we found this gem. Pollo street taco to die for..! Delicious with their own savoury chili sauce to add even more heat and flavour. My partner had the seafood enchilada which was so much food we share some of his sides. The sangria was delicious, you'll want another. Visit this cute restaurant for some authentic Mexican food.
We really enjoyed our dinner here with our group and props to our waiter Gilberto for his positive attitude, being accommodating, welcoming and overall five star service! First, they welcome you with complimentary chips and salsa for the table. Drinks? Did you say 32oz (yes that's about a liter) blended house margarita? Sold! Music? Yes! My fiends also had tequila shots which they liked as well. For dinner. We had steak fajitas which were great and enough for two to share. Oh, don't get fooled ordering the combo appetizer plate and expect "something small" like my buddy, that was the biggest plate on the table with different samplers. Anyways everyone enjoyed their food, the decor, the vibe, the atmosphere and the service. We wanted to go back for lunch but we had to leave the town early.
El Agave again! I always get the same thing and it's always delicious. Spinach mushroom enchiladas! Served super quick, not busy, and easy parking.
